The 39 Steps ‘Sip and Show’ at Ole Olsen Memorial Theater
The opening show of the season, The 39 Steps, is upon us. Our first new Sip and Show event will be held on its debut night, Thursday, October 2. Doors will open at 6:15pm. Sip and Show will be offered at the first performance of all of our plays this season replacing our former dinner theater. Guests will be able to enjoy charcuterie boats, sip on a delicious beverage, and mingle with other guests. Ole member Kyle Johnson will provide music. The play will then begin at 7pm. A tasty dessert will be served at intermission.
Alfred Hitchcock meets Monty Python in our first show of our 61st season, ‘The 39 Steps’. What is ‘The 39 Steps’? The question is asked many times by main character, Richard Hannay, throughout the show. The scenes change rapidly and take you on an adventure through the theater, on a train ride, along for a plane crash, and into the misty Scottish Moors. The many characters that are found along the journey are played by only three actors. We see a man, a pilot, an underwear salesman, a train porter, a police inspector, a milkman, a hotel proprietor, another pilot, a sheep, a police chief, a professor, a sheriff, a paperboy, a Scottish crofter, and a Scottish hotel bellhop.
