In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me A Tenor, Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in reparatory in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. On the brink of a split up caused by George’s infidelity with a young ingenue, they receive word that they might have one last shot at stardom.
But the great movie director Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he just might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately, down on their luck doesn’t begin to describe it. Everything that could go wrong does go wrong. Naked ambition takes over as George and Charlotte do everything in their power to make Capra love them. But with hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, you’ll be rolling with laughter as their daughter, her fiance’, her ex-boyfriend, and Charlotte’s deaf mother try to save the show!
