Downtown Peru Christmas Open House

Stop by on November 22nd and explore all the local businesses offering fun activities, special deals, and festive surprises throughout the day.

Make sure to stick around for the Christmas Parade at 4:30 PM that will be starting at the Depot – it’s the perfect way to cap off a day of holiday cheer!

Just Pork food trailer will be outside on E. 5th Street and North Broadway. East 5th Street will be closed in that first block (from North Broadway to Court Street) from 12 noon to 7 pm. Regular menu plus chili.

Z & C Tree Farms, set up on East 5th Street at North Broadway and they will be offering barrel cart rides on East 5th Street sponsored by Hometown Federal Credit Union from 11 am to 2 pm.

Covington Homestead selling canned items, herbal teas, tea advent calendars, and herbal bath products. Samples of Christmas jam! Located on the first block of East 5th Street. Hours will be 12 noon to dark.

Shaggy’s Simply Sourdough will be selling a variety of bread, pretzel twists, cookies, and cinnamon rolls. Hours will be 12 noon to 7 pm.

There will be carriage rides starting at the corner of East 5th Street and North Broadway turning right on East 5th Street heading east to Wabash Street, then right on Wabash Street heading south, then turning right on East Main Street heading west, then turning right on North Broadway heading north. The rides will be from 2 pm to 4 pm. Sponsored by Paul-Richard GM Center.

We will have the block in front of the courthouse close between Main Street and E/W. 5th Street. That part of North Broadway will only be closed after the parade for the tree lighting.

During the day of open house, we will have 4 porta pots around town….1 handicap and 1 regular with a handwashing unit close to the Ace lawn area and 1 handicap and 1 regular with handwashing unit in between the Museum and the Berkshire building in the alley.
